ROYAL Caribbean International’s Legend of the Seas embarked on her last roundtrip Brisbane cruise from Portside Wharf yesterday.
The vessel will farewell Queensland on 20 Feb and head for Singapore, before making her way to Europe to be delivered to her new home with Thomson Cruises in the UK in Mar.
Royal Caribbean announced it had sold Legend to Thomson Cruises mid last year (CW 02 Jun).
Voyager of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Radiance of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas will continue to cruise to Queensland.
“Looking ahead, we can’t wait to base another ship in Brisbane once the new terminal at Luggage Point is complete,” said Adam Armstrong, managing director, Royal Caribbean Australia & NZ.
The 70,000 tonne vessel was the very first ship built in the Vision Class and when she departs, will have spent 21 years in the fleet.
