A GROUP of 1,500 passengers on an around the world cruise from Sydney created a lot of noise in Cobh, Ireland, after their impromptu “Aussie, Aussie Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi” chant on board Sea Princess, while it was in port on 07 July.
The ship was docked in town to mark the town’s annual ‘Australia Day’ event that celebrates the thousands of emigrants that left from Cobh.
A local Cobh native started the chant from the dock, to which the masses on board the ship responded enthusiastically.
While in town the passengers attended many Australian and Irish themed events .
The Australia Day event has been held annually every year in Cobh since 2009.
