Cunard to add fourth ship to its fleet. Carnival Corporation has signed a memorandum of agreement with shipbuilder Fincantieri to construct a new generation of ship for Cunard. When it launches in 2022 the 3,000-passenger vessel will be the first new ship for the brand in 12 years. The as yet unnamed ship will join Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth and mark the first time since 1998 that Cunard will have four ships in simultaneous service. Cunard said the investment forms part of the company’s “ambitious plans for the future of Cunard globally” and that it will reveal further details on the new addition during 2018 and through to its launch. More details in tomorrow’s edition of Cruise Weekly.
