JAPAN is currently trialling a deep ocean turbine, which could hopefully offer limitless renewable energy.
According to reporting from Bloomberg, the invention features two counter-rotating turbine fans which are suspended above the sea floor at a depth of between 30 and 50 metres.
The country is speculating this device could potentially generate as much as 200 gigawatts of reliable energy – the equivalent of 60% of its present generating capacity, which is great news for the fossil fuel-reliant nation.
