THERE’S no telling the sorts of things that wash up on the beach – but a lifeguard in the seaside town of Westerly on Rhode Island in the USA really came up with something unusual after a female swimmer unfortunately lost her prosthetic leg in the water.
Apparently the incident happened while she was body surfing, with local TV station WJAR citing a Facebook post from the Windjammer Surf Bar saying that upon hearing about the loss hero lifesaver Dakota Bryson leapt into the water with some snorkelling gear.
After about an hour of searching Dakota successfully found the missing leg, and was greeted with a standing ovation upon returning to the shore.
The bar posted this picture of Dakota with the no-longer legless lucky lady.
