IN the lead-up to the arrival of Carnival Spirit
in Sydney in October 2012, Carnival Cruise
Lines (CCL) is offering Australians the chance to
win some unique experiences, including a
cruise to the Pacific Islands.
The campaign follows a study, commissioned
by the cruise line, that indicates many
Australians are lacking a spirit of adventure.
According to the nationwide survey of more
than 1,000 people, 74% wear the same style of
clothing; 59% eat same meals every day and
socialise at the same places every weekend;
and over two thirds always sleep on the same
side.
Almost all (92%) believe that being open to
new things is good, but nearly one-third said
they can’t afford to break out of their routine
or that family limits their choices.
The CCL study also shows that many people
dream about travelling around the world (41%)
and getting away from it all by themselves
(35%).
“We recognise that Aussies have an
adventurous spirit, which is just one of the
reasons we decided to bring our cruise
experience to this market,” said Jennifer
Vandekreeke, director, CCL Australia.
“The findings show that Aussies are clearly
looking for a little help to rediscover and
celebrate that spirit.
“Over the next few weeks, we’ll be inviting
the nation to try something new every day,
however big or small.”
TV personality Tom Williams is the face of
the new campaign.
