AMAWATERWAYS has announced the construction of two custom-built river ships which will mark the company’s expansion into South America.
Itineraries will operate in Colombia, with seven-night cruises planned between Cartagena and Barranquilla.
The ships will be named AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia, & have capacity for 60 pax each, according to co-founder Kristin Karst.
She said the voyages would explore a region offering “multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites, incredible biodiversity, wildlife, music, rich cuisine and some of the finest coffee, chocolate and rum anywhere”.
The new AmaWaterways South America offering is scheduled to debut in 2024.
