Australians’ continuing enthusiasm for visiting the battlefields and cemeteries of Gallipoli in this 100th Anniversary year, has been reflected yet again in a just-completed sailing by the world’s most-highly rated boutique passenger vessel, SeaDream II – over 40% of guests were Australians, the most of any nationality aboard.
And with so many, in a special gesture SeaDream Yacht Club’s Turkish ground operator, SeaSong in the port of Kepez from where Gallipoli tours depart, arranged for them to be escorted around the site by its experts who guided the last official Australian ANZACS’ tour there.
“We’ve always had strong interest by Australians when we’ve included Gallipoli in our sailings, but response to this one in your special year was quite extraordinary – it certainly holds a very special place in Australians’ hearts,” said SeaDream Yacht Club’s President, Bob Lepisto of the 9-day sailing from Istanbul to Athens.
“And it was terrific that most of our Australian guests took the opportunity to rebook another voyage while on board – SeaDream’s boutique product and high service levels really appeal to guests from your country, and which is reflected in great market growth this year.”
