Carnival Cruise Line yesterday celebrated the birthday of legendary writer and cartoonist Dr Seuss with a party onboard Carnival Legend. Cruise guests of all ages – along with character favourites including Cat in the Hat and Sam I Am – joined the celebrations complete with a birthday cake and colourful party food inspired by the pages of Dr Seuss’ books.
Born on March 2, 1904 Theodor Seuss Geisel – known as Dr Seuss – died in 1991 but would have celebrated his 111th birthday yesterday.
The spirit of Dr Seuss’ books are captured on every Carnival Legend cruise from Sydney through the cruise line’s special ‘Seuss at Sea’ family program. The program features fun onboard activities themed around the author’s books and their characters which have delighted children across generations, including a zany Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast and Seuss-a-palooza Character Parades around the ship.
The popular Seuss at Sea activities will be introduced to sister ship Carnival Spirit in November this year.
