Dream Cruises today confirmed that the flagship of sister brand Star Cruises, SuperStar Virgo, will join its fleet in 2019.
SuperStar Virgo will become Explorer Dream following a US$30 million transformation in April next year. The newly refurbished ship will then be deployed in Tianjin and Shanghai in the northern summer before relocating to Australian waters from Oct 2019 until Mar 2020.
Explorer Dream will conduct a series of 21 seven-night cruises in Australia and New Zealand, homeporting in Sydney and Auckland and visiting the Great Barrier Reef, Brisbane, Melbourne, Eden and Tasmania.
“We will be accelerating this vision to develop Dream Cruises into Asia’s global cruise line by utilising one of our best-loved ships, SuperStar Virgo, and converting her into a brand new sibling alongside Genting Dream and World Dream,” said Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, executive chairman of Genting Hong Kong.
