THE body of a cruise passenger
has been found in a ventilation
shaft two months after she was
reported missing by her husband.
Ernst Bechstein raised the alarm
during a voyage aboard a Tirrenia
ferry from Porto Torres in Sardinia
to Genoa in Oct.
“We rested in sleeping-chairs…
when I woke up later my wife had
disappeared,” he said.
Bechstein, who said his 74-year old
wife could sometimes
become disorientated and
must have wandered into the
engine room and fallen into the
ventilation shaft, slammed the
crew for not searching properly.
