P&O Cruises’ plan to refresh the P&O fleet over time (CW 05 Oct 17) would likely follow a cycle similar to its 18-month program release, providing “ample time” to make arrangements.
“The way we release our programs is typically 18 months out so expect there to be a similar cycle for when any of the ships will exit the fleet,” Myrmell told Cruise Weekly.
“There’s no secret that some of the P&O ships are getting towards the end of their lifespan and we need to replace them with newer, fresher, bigger, more efficient tonnage,” he said, adding “there is no timeline for that set out, there’s no agreements at this point”.
Last year Carnival Australia announced Princess Cruises’ Golden Princess would join the P&O Cruises fleet in 2020.
