| P&O Cruises World Cruising puts finishing touches on new livery

P&O Cruises World Cruising is putting the finishing touches to the brand new livery on its newest ship in the fleet – Britannia, the largest ship built for Britain, which will be officially named in a glittering ceremony in Southampton in March 2015.

The bold new look on the bow features the world’s largest contemporary version of the Union Flag.

Painting of the livery at Fincantieri Shipyard in Italy’s Monfalcone required more than 500 litres of paint, including 160 litres for the big logo of P&O on the front of the bow.

The 141,000-tonne ship will also have two distinctive blue funnels carrying an illuminated rising sun motif which depicts the Oriental part of the Peninsular and Oriental (P&O) name on the company’s coat of arms.

As P&O Cruises in the UK refreshes and re-energises its brand, the company is to update the livery across all eight ships to celebrate, more clearly, its British credentials.
