AN owl in Florida has lived out a fantasy many of us have thought up, stowing away on a cruise ship for two weeks on a journey to Mexico.

The burrowing owl accidentally boarded Royal Caribbean International’s Symphony of the Seas.

Throughout the voyage, the owl delighted passengers, as it spent its days at sea resting on railings and peeking through plants.

Once the cruise returned to Florida, two unsuccessful attempts were made to capture the fare-evading passenger, before it was forcefully disembarked – in good health, fortunately.

The owl had nothing to claim in customs, Florida Fish & Wildlife said.
