Local folklorist Mirko Bogicic believes the riverside port is home to a real-life vampire, a peasant named Petar Blagojevic who legend has it came back to life to torment his family and lurk near houses to demand food or shoes from his victims.
Villagers became so terrified that at one point they dug up his grave so they could stab the corpse in the heart with a stake.
