THE marine mammal-led overthrow of humanity may finally be here, with sailboats off the coast of Europe reporting a rise in orca attacks.
While there is (currently) no record of a orca killing a human in the wild, two boats were reportedly sunk by killer whales off the coast of Portugal last month, in the worst such encounter since authorities have tracked them.
Even more concerning, scientists don’t know why the increase in attacks is being observed, however, some are hypothesising orcas are stimulated by the water pressure produced by a boat’s propeller.
Let’s hope that’s the case, and not that they’ve developed a taste for human flesh!
